Frequently Asked Questions

  • What should I do before my appointment?

To help you get the best possible results and minimise the risk of bruising or swelling, we

    recommend the following pre-treatment tips:

Avoid blood-thinning agents such as aspirin, anti-inflammatories (like ibuprofen),

fish oil, vitamin E, and alcohol for at least 24–48 hours before your appointment, unless prescribed by your doctor. These can increase the risk of bruising.

Stay well-hydrated and eat a light meal before your appointment to help you feel

    comfortable and relaxed.

Arrive with clean skin—please avoid makeup in the treatment area if possible.

  • What should I avoid post treatment?

To support optimal results and minimise side effects like swelling or bruising, we

    recommend the following post-treatment precautions:

Avoid touching, pressing, or massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours unless advised otherwise by your practitioner. For most treatments we recommend

avoiding direct pressure on the areas for 2-4 weeks.

Refrain from strenuous exercise, saunas, hot tubs, and excessive heat (including hot showers or facials) for 24–48 hours.

Skip makeup on the treated area for the rest of the day to reduce the risk of irritation or infection.

Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications or supplements for 24 hours, as

these can increase the chance of bruising.

Delay facials, skin treatments, or dental work for at least 2 weeks posttreatment, unless otherwise discussed.

Mild swelling, tenderness or small bruises are common and usually settle within a few days. If you have any concerns or unexpected symptoms, please don’t hesitate to contact

    us.

  • Can facial contouring be combined with other treatments?

Yes, facial contouring is often combined with other appearance-focused treatments to achieve more comprehensive results. Depending on your goals, we may recommend pairing it with skin rejuvenation, wrinkle softening or other supportive therapies as part of your personalised plan.

  • What should I avoid after facial contouring treatment?

After treatment, it’s best to avoid heavy exercise, alcohol, hot environments (like saunas), and applying pressure to treated areas for at least 24 hours. These steps help minimise swelling and ensure the product settles evenly. We’ll give you tailored aftercare instructions at your appointment.

  • What causes facial volume loss as we age?

Facial volume loss occurs naturally with age due to a combination of factors, including reduced collagen production, fat redistribution and bone density changes. These changes can lead to flatter cheeks, sagging skin or hollow areas. Facial contouring helps restore lost volume to support a more youthful and balanced appearance.
